Deborah got rolling early this morning — very early! Half-past dark as she puts it.
But it’s for a very good reason …
She and the doctors from the Dream Makeover Hawaii TV show are being interviewed in preparation for the premiere of the show this week. Coach Deb was chosen from dozens of top coaches to play a key role in guiding the Dream Makeover winner through the nearly five months of surgeries and a total life makeover. And what a terrific job she’s done if I must say so myself!
Today’s interview is on LITE 94.7 FM, and OC16 is there filming a simulcast too! Pretty exciting stuff!
The first public airing of the Dream Makeover Hawaii TV show is 4/3/05 on OC16, Sunday, 9:30pm. Here’s the complete schedule of shows, including two on NBC:
4/3/05 on OC16, Sunday, 9:30pm

4/7/05 on K5, Thursday, 7:00pm

Aloha Judy,
Thanks so much for your encouragement. And you’re so right about “beliefs”. It really does all begin there.

This was great! By seeing her after pictures I would use you. I am happy for her but, I wish it were me. She will be one happy lady! It is sad but true, life is easier when you look good. Looking good deffinately makes you feel good. I hope that you will have another contest (for the over 40 crowd). A yearly thing would be really great! Mahalo for making someone feel so happy!

Hi,
I was just recently congratulating Coach Deb Micek on her Dream Makeover Show and for what she has done to help women in domestic violence. In confidence I shared my story with her and then (with her encouragement) decided to share it publicly. While I don’t feel mine is as bad as some women endure, I felt that if this story could help even one woman, then I needed to share it.
I’m very very passionate about wanting to see women restored. I grew up with an abusive Dad who hit my mom repeatedly until she nearly killed him one night. They divorced when I was 6 but she remarried men who abused in other ways -those who mostly use the velvet hammer (words).
My dad, for the most part with me, used verbal abuse but there was an occasional smacking about. The last time when I was 20 years old and he was, as usual drunk. He always claimed later he didn’t remember or that I must be mistaken. I know now that is often the tact used. He and I made our peace with each
other a few years before he died in large part due to the wonderful man I am now married to. My husband has always supported me and been my champion. We laid down some boundaries with my Dad which was instrumental in changing our relationship:
1. You aren’t welcome in our home when you’re under the influence of drugs and alcohol but always when you are sober.
2. If you need help during one of your “bouts” then Donnie (my husband) will come help you out but you stay away from Kim.
This was a turning point and a direction towards healing with him and me.
My dad was his own worst enemy, abusing himself with alcohol and drugs as he too was abused growing up. Not physically but in all the other ways people can abuse one another. He went off to WWII far too young. I think he was running away but into a far worse situation. When he returned he was never “right”. I attribute much of his physical & verbal abuse to his substance abuse and going to war too young.
He was abused himself and went to WWII far too young, and became a drug and alcohol addict which I attribute much of his abuse to.
He didn’t raise me after my mom and he divorced but was always in my life and got weird too many times to tell but I did love him very much. I never hated him, was more embarrassed than anything of his antics. We did become friends and resolve our conflict long before he died which gave me a lot peace and brought resolution.
Previously I was married to a man who I thought was a good man, but well, he wasnt. Same story different man. Well, I am now blessed to live with and be married to a wonderful, supportive, kind man. While ours has never been a perfect marriage, what marriage is? Anyway, my previous husband was good at both the velvet hammer and later with the slapping and “stepping out”. He and I did not part enemies and he later admitted he was very hard on me in many ways so at least I know that he recognizes what he did although I don’t think that changed anything for him as he’s been married twice more since and now has a young daughter. I am blessed to be where I am and be married to my wonderful husband now and to know that the change had to happen within me first in order to move past this and go forward.
How I got to the point where I now run and operate my own business and have a new life is because of my Christian faith. It is God who has brought me through all my difficulties and shown me that my life path has brought me to who and what I am today for His glory. Not mine. For His purpose, not mine. To serve others, not me.
Thank you for reading my story.

I’m glad you enjoyed the Dream Makeover TV show - and THANKS for your confidence in my talents as a Life Coach; however I only worked with her on her inner transformation, whereas the Cosmetic Dentist and Cosmetic Doctor worked with her on our outer transformation.
As for another opportunity for people to get a Dream Makeover, I’ve convinced the Doctors to do it “one more time” for several women who come to the Amazing Women’s Conference in Hawaii on May 7, 2005.
For registration details visit: http://AmazingWomensConference.com
I do wish we lived in a different world, where people would see each other for the beauty that lives within - but I don’t want to stick my head in the sand and deny reality of how cruel people treat others, and I’ve seen the devastation that rejection leaves on a person’s soul and it’s sad. That’s where the Life Coaching comes in - to build a woman’s confidence and to be able to see herself as beautiful - just as she was created. ~ Coach Deb

Aloha Kim,
Congratulations on your courage and willingness to share your story to encourage other women. I think there are way more women who share your story - and I know they’ll be encouraged by reading your comments!
I love how you mentioned how your husband Donnie is your champion! We all need people like that in our lives, and if more husbands supported their wives like yours does, the world would be a much better place.
Confidence is one of those “inner success qualities” that helps us conquer the challenges that all small business owners face. And I’m excited to see your success, and how your faith has helped to transform your entire life - from your personal life, marriage and business in the pet industry.
You are an amazing woman, and you reflect His glory indeed!
May more women read your post and share their story so that healing can begin/continue in millions of women’s lives.
Thanks for sharing your story!
~ Coach Deb
